Dear Kang Chiao Linkou students,
None of these books will be on a test. We, your teachers, will not create projects, assign homework or attach any other means of academic or personal responsibility to the reading of these texts. This is a list of books that have moved us, inspired us, and opened our eyes to lives lived other than our own. The purpose of this list is to share our love of reading with you and maybe in doing so, you may find that you too are interested in stories, fiction and nonfiction.
You don't have to read all of them. You may not read any of them, but perhaps you will find a book here that isn't too long, too boring, or too difficult. Maybe you will find a book that seems like it was written just for you in this time and place. We hope to hear about your reading journey when we meet again. Have a great summer.
